Before introducing myself to you, I wish you blessings as your eyes meet these words, dear reader. I am Anna Poloz, an American-born Orthodox Christian iconographer and artist of Ukrainian and Belarusian descent. In every icon that you see me create, I attentively focus on the loving-kindness of every face and gesture of Christ and His saints that we all long to greet us. This is a form of love that has long been acquainted with suffering, and this spiritual companion imprints itself into the faces of our holy ones who I depict. You are not alone in your own suffering, dear one. Christ, His saints, and His holy angels all love and sustain you. Pray to them, and perhaps one of my icons may accompany you on your spiritual path and personal devotion.

You will notice that I create both modern and traditional styled icons. The former are influenced by the modern Renaissance of icon painting in present-day Lviv, Ukraine, while the latter take influence from a number of historical iconographic styles spanning over many centuries and over many Orthodox lands.

My skills are the product of 12 years of artistic study. I have spent 3 of those years in Florence, Italy studying classical oil painting and drawing at the Florence Classical Arts Academy, contemporary art at the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, and iconography at the Chiesa Greca Ortodossa di San Jacopo sopr'Arno. I have additionally received theological education at the Sts. Cyril and Athanasius Institute for Orthodox Studies.

Many of my icons are currently held in both private collections and churches throughout the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Iceland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Brazil.
