--This is my fun side gig and I don't have as much time to create now due to focusing time/energy on things that pay better at the moment. I may pick it up again for the holidays.
If there's something you're interested in, please feel free to contact me directly.
I take requests for both refills and custom candles and soaps.
--------------

-- I use the highest quality organic ingredients in my candles & soaps. They're eco-friendly, food-quality, pure, and most of my products are vegan (except the goat's milk soap.) The majority of my candles & melts are double scented.

ABOUT: Hi! Thanks for stopping by!
AprilsScentSations started purely by accident as the result of a small breakdown. Dealing with the loss of my grandmother and mother back-to-back in addition to a divorce, I was unable to shake the ever-present depression for over a year. Advised by my therapist to make a list of things I loved doing as a child before chasing the paycheck in life...bike riding, reading, swimming, and that candle-making kit my mother bought me when I was a kid all made the cut.
Working with my hands proved to be therapeutic. After posting photos of my uniquely (oddly) scented soy creations on Facebook and Instagram (such as pumpkin pie lavender - Insta @aprilsscentsations) I was inundated with offers to buy them, which I declined. However, the hobby eventually became an expensive one, so I relented, thus creating AprilsScentSations. I thought I'd make my own candles and save money since I'm an addict. Well...now I know why soy candles are so expensive!

I recently ventured into lighted bottles and beautiful, natural soaps. To say I'm obsessed with mood lighting and scent is an understatement.

I'm a former professional wrestler and current cosplay model. I'm also a full-time student at Full Sail University for my degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment, an author, unapologetic coffee snob, pop culture fanatic, Mother of Chickens, and owned by a spoiled rotten corgi, fat kitty, and needy pitbull.

WHAT YOU'RE BUYING:
*I create a ridiculous mess in my kitchen making soy candles, melts, soap, bath bombs & body butter - made with love, I can assure you - using only the highest quality, natural ingredients. (Pets, allergies, asthma, and kids, y'all. Can't use any of that crappy chemical stuff. AND, being eco-friendly matters to me - a lot.) I'm currently addicted to blending different scents to make a unique "WOW!" effect you probably can't find anywhere else. Even if it SEEMS like a typical scent, it's still customized. I also love infusing my love of pop culture into my crafts, as you can probably tell.

*I LOVE things that smell great. I also have a farting dog. My candles are great for PET ODORS. Time tested, again and again.
*If you'd like something custom or out of the ordinary (wedding announcement flameless candles are such fun to make), contact me.
*Thanks for visiting my store!

****CANDLE TROUBLESHOOTING****

NOTE: Soy burns differently. If you're having a problem keeping your wicks lit, gently dig a little pool around the wick(s) with a spoon, and that should do it. Fire needs air to burn.

-If you've burned your candle down or lost the wicks and there's still some left in the jar or tin, you can scoop the wax out with a spoon and place it into a wax warmer to get full use of every last bit.

-Trim the burned part of the wick off before relighting for a better burn.

-If you are having WICK ISSUES, you can scoop the wax into a wax warmer and use it from there. Soy is pretty soft.

-Lighting the first time, try to burn for a min of 60 - 90 mins to create an even melt pool. This prevents "tunneling". If you have a tunnel, you can wrap a little foil around the top of your candle and leave the top a little OPEN to keep the heat in while burning for a short while and see if that encourages the wax to flatten out. Please keep an eye on it.

-Smoking cotton wicks: blow out the candle, then use wet fingers to blot the wicks and stop the smoking.

-Keep soy away from sunlight and higher temperatures, as that will destroy the wax and scent.

Frequently asked questions

Want a custom order?

Contact me if you'd like a custom order. I adore doing custom stuff!

Care instructions

*If your soy candle wick won't burn after a while, gently dig a little well around it with a spoon to give the wick air. Fire needs air.

*If you have leftover candle wax, you can easily scoop it on to a warmer. Waste not, want not!

*Burn for 2 hours the first time to avoid the "hole in the middle" problem.

*Soy melts at lower temperatures. These candles don't do well in hot cars, by windows in the summer, or in garages/attics.

*Wood Wicks can be a pain to get going. The flame needs to be well into the wax in order to burn. If yours goes out, keep lighting.

*NEVER leave a candle unattended. Don't place near windows with curtains, or where children or pets can tip them over (tart warmers are best for little wanderers).
