Back in July 2011, we adopted a little basenji mix from the Humane Society, who we named Penny Lane. I've always had a huge passion for animals, and can't remember a time in my life that I didn't have a pet. I've always been creative and I could sit for hours and work on craft projects. I have a huge passion for baking, crafting, and photography, and Penny began to turn into my "guinea pig" for experiments with new projects. I started playing around with a few recipes that include all natural, dog-friendly ingredients, and began baking dog cookies for her a few years ago, which she loved! I would give them out as gifts to friends with dogs, and they were a hit.
Not too long ago, my mom gave me a sewing machine, and I was hooked! Of course, Penny became my test subject again and I started fashioning dog bandanas for her. I made them in a way that they can slip over the collar, for easier wear and less stress around her neck. I had so much fun coming up with new designs, that I decided to share them on Etsy.
And so, Bark Street Treats was born. I have fun working on these items, and always get excited when I see a new order come through. I have a ton of new items coming soon, and I've been thrilled with the business I've received so far! I've had a few people send pics of their pups wearing their bandanas, which I love to see.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have any requests for custom orders, just message me and I would be happy to work with you!
