BelieveinURdream started to become a dream come true in September of 2010. Of course, I started out doing what I was familiar with...Shopping!! Yes, I bought bead caps from an Etsy Seller...and that's where my story begins. Of course I needed to pick a name, and I knew I couldn't change it...ever. That is when I chose my shop name, because I know that I will never change my mind about the power of believing in dreams! I threw the UR in the middle to make my name unique and hopefully memorable!
I haven't forgotten it, so I guess that is a good start!
Most of my original works were what I call Primitive Fiber Art. My first sale was a Witch's boot, and then another, and then ice skates, etc...all primitive items. My first few sales were SO exciting. The feedback I received was wonderful...and these were the sales that gave me the confidence to go on. I have evolved through the years...I now only create primitive fiber art around the holidays, and the majority of my work is now in creating Glass Pendants and other Jewelry, Bottle Cap magnets, etc. I enjoy the sheer number of designs that I can create to suit my interests and the interests of my customers.
I plan to continue to Believe in my Dream by creating products that I love and that others appreciate. Every time I make a sale my heart smiles to know that I have made something that someone loves and that makes me feel like I have made a difference in the world, even if it is a very small one.
In my time at Etsy, many customers have shared with me how my creations were shared with others. My items have been used for a gift to a groom on his wedding day, as vacation necklaces for a group of women who travel together once a year and their destination is always a surprise to the group, at Birthday parties across the country, as a symbol of friendship in the United Kingdom, as Christmas gifts in Australia, to honor teachers and the work they do throughout the USA....and lots more stories that I will never know. Thanks for reading my story.... and this, trust me, is only the beginning of great things to come....
