My name is Brooke and I’m the dyer/owner of BiddyKnits! BiddyKnits was first founded in 2011 when I was 17 years old. Initially, I opened my Etsy store as a way to sell custom knit items such as baby booties or hats. Instead of using “Brooke’s Knits” which seemed boring I opted to go by a childhood nickname that my family still calls me today—Biddy which stems from “Itty Bitty” since I was the smaller of my mom’s two babies. As a current Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse, if you ask me 8lbs 4oz is not small 🤣👏🏼 but my older brother was around 10lbs so I seemed small in my family’s eyes.

Well, it didn’t take long for me to realize that my slow knitting speed was not going to work for a biz and therefore BiddyKnits plateaued for years. Following nursing school in 2018 I was able to pick back up my favorite hobby and my husband once again found me swooning after every colorway that I saw online and in my LYS. I was mesmerized every time I saw someone hand dyeing yarn on my feed and kept wishing aloud to him how I wish I could be able to do that too! Late June 2020 BiddyKnits was reborn and that’s what I was going to focus on this time.
