Announcement    Welcome to Cherished Memories by BMDmemories [!at] etsy.com. Most of my items will be somehow related to Bernese Mountain Dogs but WAIT! don't let that stop you. I can make nearly all of my items in nearly any popular breed, as well as cats and even birds.

This past Christmas I made a mug with a Maine Coon cat on one side, a Persian cat on the other and the names of the three cats along the side. I have etched glass designs ranging from Bichons to Bull Mastiffs and wine glasses with winey wenches and football team logos. I am always game to give any design a try!

All of my items are somehow made using vinyl. What I have discovered over this past year is that there are many types of vinyl and with each type I can do something different. I use one type of vinyl for making my stencils for my etchings, another for the water bottles, spray bottles, and stickers, and now a new type, heat transfer vinyl to make clothes.

In 2012 I ventured out into a new line of products—t-shirts and hoodies. I decided to get my feet wet designing clothing because I got tired of seeing the same shirts over and over again at all the dog shows and large club meetings.

As recent as 5-7 years ago, I would google Bernese Mountain Dog on that “other E” site, and I would be lucky if I would get 100-150 hits. Today, I put that same search in on that site and it came back with 6,119 hits; 2,700 in clothing and accessories.

As you will see with all of my items, they are pretty much “ONE OF A KIND” (OOAK) I have done this intentionally so that when you purchase an item from me you will not be seeing that same item at your next club event. I also have done this because just as I did for nearly a decade, I searched the holy grail to find something unique for my late husband’s sister and her husband who have EVERYTHING.

With that in mind, you won’t see every size and color available in all the various designs of t-shirts and hoodies; same also with the glassware. In the glassware, I have two new heady studies that I have employed in addition to the puppy head that I have used in the past. I also have some large pieces where the designs are of actual dogs owned by members of the Kentuckiana Bernese Mountain Dog Club. These dogs are all in Berner Garde and their original photos are on our club’s website.

If however, you see an item or a design that is not available in the size, style, color, that you need and you REALLY REALLY want that that item, I have held back a number of “blanks” in the t-shirts and hoodies and some of the glassware. Unfortunately, there will be some items that I cannot duplicate because I purchased the t-shirt or glassware at the end of the season from various department stores. In those cases, I will do my best to replicate the design on another style/color shirt or hoodie or another type of glassware. I do ask, if you are wanting me to make you such an item or an item with another breed of dog or cat, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me some lead time. In those cases, it may be necessary to order the type and color item you wish from another company. If I have a “blank” that will suit your needs I usually can have it made and to you within a week.

In the fall of 2013, I began a journey that has taken me to meet new people and through them visit new places. I began a joint venture with Maggie Brudos of Tangerine Studio and it has been an absolute joy to work with her. Maggie brings to the table her wonderful world of whimsy in a rainbow of colors. My job has been to take those colors and winnow them down to two...etched and clear...without losing Maggie's original intent with her pieces. We experimented with different designs...some successfully...others not so well. Some I can put on large pieces others I can't as I lose the detail. However, together we are doing something that has never been done before...we are creating products that have images that have been individually hand etched...not sandblasted...not laser etching...each piece is handled multiple times in the process and as such it is art...not a commercial piece of glass you can order off some other website.

For ease in trying to find a particular item I have divided my products into nine different sections. To reach an individual section, you can always go to the left hand side of the site and click “SECTIONS” and that will bring up an array ranging from treat jars and platters to tshirts, hoodies, and Other Berner Stuff, .

Since up until last Christmas, I had always given my finished projects as gifts or donated them to canine related fundraisers, my main objective is to please and put a smile on the recipient's face. I create these items because I love to experiment with different media and am proud of what I do.
