I have always loved creative things:art, crafts, etc. I studied studio art in college but had ZERO interest in fiber arts! Well, 10 years later I found myself lurking in yarn shops even though I never learned to knit. I loved all the colors and the feel of the natural fibers! Next thing I knew I was taking knitting classes and then had a desire to learn needle felting. I was able to learn the basics locally but once I became more interested in the process of wet felting I was on my own. Most of what I have learned I have done so through books and lots of trial and error! I love the versatility of wool as well the history of felt making. I love the idea of using an ancient technique and a material so basic to make something new and contemporary! My work is evolving as I learn more about my craft. I love what I do and I love to teach it as well! My dream is to build a studio on my farm where I can teach workshops and camps and raise a few fiber animals.
