One day in 2008 I bought an awl and a scrap of leather. The goal was to make a journal (and I did), but thanks to the bottomless education and encouragement I got from the crew at Hamilton's Tundra Leather, I also made a business.

Today, through leather and metal, I offer what I call hoser totems - tough, functional, pieces meant to bring people closer to the places and spaces they miss.

As an artist I'm preoccupied by the interplay between physical and human geography. The experience of place figures prominently in my work, which aims to convey a specific sense of location.

By nature amulets, my pieces allow their owners to always be, in a sense, onsite – closer to the places and spaces common between us.

I hunt and tan some of the deer hide I use. This is always noted in the listing. Not smelting my own metals just yet, but will keep you in the loop.
