Heartfelt and thoughtful gift giving is one of my passions. The quotes and artwork on my coffee mugs, notebooks, note cards, and art prints are inspired by my desire to to make something that is upliftings and unique, and makes the recipient feel inspired and appreciated.

The name of my Etsy shop "Dashes of Happiness" signifies the motion of my paintbrush and the emotion that it creates as I make art to share with the world. The items that you purchase in this shop will make you smile, and your joy will be multiplied as you give these items as gifts to the ones you love.

As I slowly came into my own creative voice, I initially struggled to find a unifying theme in my artwork- a style that would shout from across the room that it was me who had created it. This style is still evolving, but it has always been my wish for my artwork to be a source of joy and light- so these feelings are always my guiding principle as I create.

When I paint I usually don't start with a literal inspiration point or a reference photograph.  My inspiration almost always starts simply with color, and then I paint in shapes & styles that feel natural to me. As wacky as it sound, the painting tells me when it's done. Only then can I see what the piece was meant to be, and I can add my finishing touches to bring the story to life. Often, two unfinished ideas will come together digitally to create magic in a way that I never anticipated.
