I was born with the gift of joy...welcomed into this world by the face of this beautiful woman...her twinkling eyes and that amazing smile. This is the face of my beloved mother. The bells on my Guardians represent my mother's playful spirit... reminding us to listen to the whispers of our hearts.

Overflowing with gratitude for my mother and so many other souls that have crossed my life path, I often ponder my unearned blessings. How can I carry so much joy in my heart when there is an overabundance of suffering in this world?

PERHAPS the gift of joy that was bestowed on me at birth is my gift to share... PERHAPS I have been assigned the blessed task of echoing joy into our world...PERHAPS my gift of joy can be a gift to a world of troubled hearts...I hope it is so....

My Guardian journey began in 2013, when I received a phone call with the news of my mother’s stroke. During the week that followed, my perception of reality would change forever, as I experienced my mother's ability to engage with me through another world unseen by the naked eye. With her final breath, she firmly planted herself into my heart, releasing an overwhelming sense of unconditional love.

Through my figurative art, I strive to share the bond that exists between all souls, acknowledging that the essence of who we are extends well beyond our physical presence. Each Guardian is an encounter with the heart of an individual who has crossed my life path.

My mixed media art is a reflection of what is at the core of my existence. Creating in a spirit of play, I work with colorful natural fibers, re-purposed materials, beads, found rusty bits, and collected objects. I call upon needlework skills acquired over my lifetime to bring the personalities of my characters to life.
