Welcome to D&E Handmade Cosmetics. Thanks for taking a bit of time to learn more about me and my shop. My name is Eva and I'm the owner of D&E Handmade Cosmetics.
I am originally from Puerto Rico, and after serving in the United States Army for eight years I settled with my husband in the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. My husband is originally from Hawaii and we have two loving daughters born in 2010 and 2012.
I began making mineral makeup in 2011 after having some major breakouts in my skin. I gave birth to my daughter in the spring in 2010 and my skin was never the same. I blamed it to hormones and new motherhood stress, but time passed by and my skin never went back to normal. I began researching cosmetic ingredients and what makes us break out, and I discovered that mainstream cosmetics contain lots of ingredients that are just not good for the skin. I then ordered raw materials and started creating my own cosmetics. My skin made a dramatic change and I knew that I was on to something positive. I began making so many colors and products that the next step for me was opening my shop and share what I was creating with other people besides my family and friends.
D&E Handmade Cosmetics is available in the Etsy Marketplace, and also locally at Down to Earth in the Kapolei Commons shopping center.
I'm also a certified makeup artist. I do makeup on location or at my studio in Kapolei. I have experience with weddings, fashion and pageants among others. To view my portfolio, rates, and book an appointment visit evasalcedo.com.

I'd like to thank each and every single person who has helped me along the way: my mom, my husband, my in-laws and the rest of my family, my best friend Cindy, Shantel Grace for believing in my products and writing a wonderful story about them, the Star Advertiser for featuring my products on their newspaper and supporting women veterans, and of course my customers who come back again and again for my products and put a smile on my face with their words of beauty and happiness. I don't take any of this for granted and I'm beyond excited about my journey.
