we’re jackie and anita, the girls at exp, and we've had a passion for beautiful vintage ever since we can remember. as wee ones we cut our teeth in our grandmothers' attics, playing and rummaging through old photos and postcards, yellowed lace and dusty military uniforms. it was love at first sight.

our backgrounds are in art history and photography, so it's no secret that we're captivated by the unique and eye-catching. we‘re thirsty for color, the more saturated the better. we covet the look of statement vintage with modern. we love how wearing vintage is good for the environment. did we happen to mention that we’re crazy about vintage?

each item in our Etsy shop tells the story of our love affair with vintage clothing. we dig (and oftentimes sneeze our way:) through endless racks, shelves and bins until we come up with that one shining treasure that makes our hearts skip a beat. it’s taken back to our studio. washed and mended if necessary. packaged with care. and sent out to our vintage sisters and brothers with love.

exp's studio is in a building filled with artists and entrepreneurs. on any given day, we may be rushing to the post office to mail out a package to the strains of classical piano as the dance company downstairs warms up or the soft hiss of running water behind a studio door as someone washes out paintbrushes in a splatter-stained sink. such great reminders that life is a creative force.

we count among our customers celebrity stylists, fashion designers, creative directors, film costumers, pin-up models, a burlesque dancer and fellow vintage lovers just like us who are searching for that timeless, perfect piece that no one else is going to have on. who, in a world of reproductions, would rather wear the real deal.
