When you are given Hobson's Choice, you have to make the best of it.

Two years ago I realised that I couldn't work outside the home any more and at 42, that's a bit of a mind warp.

Faced with years of just caring, or finding something to occupy my mind and hands with, I dabbled with bits of this and that until I came across the thing. The thing was quilts and I spend hours looking at them.

Researching quilts to buy for my daughter reinforced my love of them and without the pay packet to pay for them, I was left with another Hobson's Choice - make one yourself.

We were never going to be rich; now we can give the church mice a run for their money but we are happy. John feels safe, I feel relieved and we all have the head space to love each other again properly, instead of in the lull between the storms of stress and anxiety.
