Welcome to my home!

I began gemmaclarkhome after I found myself giving up a 10 year career in retail buying to look after my two young children.

Childcare is ridiculously expensive for under 3s and it made no sense to give all my wages to someone else to look after my them but it was such a big change. I really wanted to do something that kept "Me" going.

Being one wage down meant all our pennies were precious so I began making christmas presents for family and friends. I had always enjoyed painting so decided to combine my fashion/textile skills to produce hand painted scarves. They were a big success.

Post christmas I began designing/making my first mini collection and began selling on Etsy in March 2012.

I am still learning, developing my work and my handwriting. I have recently expanded my work from flowers to butterflies and birds. And continue to source new fabrics, recently discovering some beautiful Organic bamboo Silk that I am currently experimenting with.
It is important to me to use organic materials whenever I can and also to use recycled packaging.

I love the satisfaction of a customer buying one of my items and being really thrilled with it. Good feedback is priceless.

Recently I have received some commissions. It makes me so proud to know that people are asking me to make special gifts for their friends and family.

I have so many ideas and so much more to do but I am loving every minute of it. I just need some more minutes!!!!

Welcome to my home!
My shop is filled with items I have hand made and hand painted inspired by my home in South London and my trips here there and everywhere with my family.
I work with 100% cotton and linen and an organic bamboo/cotton.
The nature of hand painting means every piece is unique.

Accepted payment methods

Payment

Payment is made through PAYPAL.

Shipping

All items are made to order. I aim to despatch within 5 days of receipt of order. It may be possible to ship sooner, please let me know if this is required and I will do my best to help.

All UK orders will be sent via Royal Mail recorded (signed for) first class delivery (aim to deliver day after despatch)
All international orders will be sent via Royal Mail AIRMAIL, normally delivered with 5 days of despatch.

Please note that the buyer is responsible for any taxes or duty in addition to postage that their country may require.

All orders will be wrapped in recycled tissue paper, tied with ribbon and a recycled cardboard box/envelope and include wash care instructions.

Additional policies and FAQs

All items are hand painted so will all differ slightly in appearance from photos shown, however I always follow an original to ensure they are as close as possible.

All items are machine washable at 40 degrees but due to the nature of the fabric I would advise hand wash. Please allow for 5-10% shrinkage. All print is colourfast at 40 degrees.
