gertigirl joined etsy in 2007 but it took a couple of years to realize i could do this too. it began by creating jewelry and accessories for myself and now has become something that I hope everyone will enjoy. I love making things that will encourage people to feel unique and beautiful.
I make my jewelry and accessories out of fabric and leather. The fabric is soft, fun, and lovely and the leather provides the sturdy backing it needs while keeping the final piece lightweight. I love nature so I often choose fabric that has leaves, flowers, or feathers printed on it. I first cut the fabric into the shape and then machine sew it to the leather for durability, leaving the edges unfinished so they will wear with the wearer. Each piece is one of a kind and made when you order it.
