I first really discovered Etsy when I was decorating my son's nursery. I ended up buying several things from this site and loved everything. When it came time to plan his birthday party, I came back to Etsy to look for invitations. This time I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to try making some of my own. And I was surprised at how much fun I had doing it! So I experimented with making some of my own party decorations too. (Those ended up being the first things I listed for sale in my shop.)

After making subway art for myself and my family, invitations for friends throwing bridal showers, decor for my living room, and on and on, I decided to make them available to everyone here on Etsy. That lead to getting requests for special orders and custom things not already found in my shop. That has probably been the most exciting part for me!

What’s the deal with the name “Green Elephant Prints?” When I was having trouble coming up with a clever or meaningful name for my shop, I asked my older son (who was two-and-a-half years old at the time) for help. He suggested “green elephant” because it was his favorite color and animal, he said. I added “prints” and decided it was perfect. :)
