Hi I'm Genny Smith and I live in Fort Pierce, FL.  Fort Pierce is fast becoming the art center of the Treasure Coast.  Lot of good things are happening here.  We have a beautiful waterfront, museums and many shops to browse and buy in! My passion for all types of jewelry construction happened quite by accident.  My son, Bill,  was out on deployment to the middle-east and I was in beautiful California helping my daughter-in-law with the care of Emma and Will, two of my very active and lovable grandchildren.  I needed a night out and the local quilt shop (my hobby at that time) did not have any interesting classes.  In quaint La Mesa village there is a bead shop, The Bouncing Bead , that caught my attention.  My curiosity kicked in and I signed up for a class.  The rest is history!  Since that time I have attended classes in Florida, New York and Georgia.  I've attended the William Holland School for Lapidary Arts .  There under the guidance of Diane Mason I learned wire wrapping techniques.  Recently I've branched out into silver smithing under the guidance of Dan Haga a master silversmith.   I meet so many great people.  I'm currently teaching both an 8 week beginner chainmaille course and an 8 week advanced chainmaille course at Saint Lucie County Rock & Gem Club. I also teach annually at The Great Bead Escape which is held at interesting spots around Florida. Whew! They do keep me busy!
