Hello, I'm Kirsten owner of Hannah Rae Designs. I am also the designer, engineer, photographer, artisan, customer service rep and marketing professional behind my company. I was given the opportunity in February of 2003 to start my own company making bridal jewelry. I took the opportunity and ran, I finally had the chance to explore my passion. I have been in the bridal industry since 1999. I have dressed and accessorized thousands of brides. Since 2004 it has been all about accessorizing brides in their perfect jewelry for their special day. If you live in the Minneapolis area, I would love to meet with you! I love creating custom jewelry that is unique just for you! One of my favorite things is when a bride brings in her mother's or grandmother's jewelry and asks me to incorporate it into a new piece just for her. I believe in making quality jewelry with high quality materials, which makes them heirloom pieces that can then be passed down to their daughters.
I love jewelry. I have loved jewelry and making things for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite things to do as a child was to go to my grandmother's house, go up to her room & dive into the jewelry boxes. I would dress up with the jewelry for hours on end. My grandfather was a wood carver, with his shop in their garage. After playing with jewelry, I would head out to the garage and watch him create his beautiful pieces.
When it came time to name my company, it was an easy choice. Hannah had just turned one and she was the most beautiful thing in my life. I was making beautiful jewelry, I would name it after my beautiful daughter. To this day I love my choice, she is still beautiful, she is extraordinarily creative & she inspires me everyday. The only problem is now she has a brother who sometimes gives me a hard time for not having a company named after him.
Speaking of Ryan, he was diagnosed in 2012 at the age of 7 with Type 1 Diabetes. You will find jewelry listed for sale with portions of the profits being donated to JDRF. JDRF is the leading global organization focused on Type 1 Diabetes research. JDRF applies over 80% of all donations to diabetes research. All of my jewelry containing Garnets will have 10% of the sale price donated to JDRF. Garnets hold a very special place in my heart, it is Hannah's birthstone and it represents a drop of blood for diabetes awareness.
I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity to own my own company. It has enabled me to be home with my children as they grow up. Watching them become what they are today has been an amazing experience.
I am a very sentimental person, the jewelry I wear - made by me of course - has my children's birthstones incorporated into it somewhere. The teacup you see earrings hanging from in my pictures was my grandmother's.
You will find in my designs my love of color and textures. I hoard beads because of their colors. I want to make everything I see. I love trying new things, so you will see many different design choices. I hope you will find something beautiful that catches your eye.
At any time if you have any questions about my jewelry, please feel free to convo me. I am always happy to answer any question.
