Happysketch started off as a healthy obsession with paper and notebooks. My bookcases became filled more with journals than with novels. My paper collection grew from one dresser drawer to the whole chest.

I find joy in a well made book, the texture of decorative paper and in the intricacy of a stitched spine. Nothing inspires me more to finish a sketchbook than knowing I have a new one waiting to be opened.

It made sense to start creating my own books to share what I love about paper and notebook design with others.

I have been an Etsy seller since 2011 but have only started selling notebooks since late 2016. Originally I was selling small illustrations but then I made some changes in my life and I moved into contemporary oil painting and stepped away from Etsy but kept the account. With my new found love for book binding, Happy Sketch is renewed and bustling with new handmade items!

I can tell you I cannot see another "break" in the foreseeable future as I have so many ideas for new coptic stitch books and paper related products. I'm excited to share it all with you!
