Hello and welcome to my shop!
I sell a selection of vintage items for home decoration or simply to look at. At The Importance of Living you will find a selection of items that have aged gracefully, with charm and charisma. But most of all items that are fun to have around and make living a much better place.
Due to the nature of the items, there will be slight imperfections but these only add to the charm and appeal of a particular piece. I try my best to describe each item as accurately as possible, either on the item's description or through the images.
To the best of my knowledge all items sold are vintage and conform to the Etsy 20 year policy. I also try as much as possible to provide any available information on the origins or history of an item.

I will ship purchased items within 3 -5 working days of cleared payment - please contact me if you require faster shipping and I will be able to arrange this.
Shipping transit times depend on the country the item is being shipped to.
Customs fees are always the responsibility of the buyer.
All items (with the exception of very large items) are shipped using UK Royal Mail. UK shipping fees refer to standard 1st class postage; international shipping fees refer to standard airmail postage - if you require different shipping (recorded, internationally signed for, insurance) please contact me directly and I am happy to accommodate the request.

All items are in a vintage condition. I do give items a general clean which typically includes dusting and light wiping with a damp cloth (if and where appropriate).
I do not attempt to do any in depth cleaning (nor do I have it professionally done) as this could substantially change the item's appearance - I prefer leaving to buyers the decision on how an item should look.
