I have always loved to craft, sew, crochet, decorate, draw, and paint. While I have a degree in art and I am a graphic and web designer, the biggest influence on my creativity has been my mom. She has been the primary person who has taught me how to do particular things, allowed and enabled me to grow in my skill sets, and always encouraged me. I am doing my best to do the same with my children. They are very young now, but this is such a fun time for all of us to be creative, learn, and enjoy one another.

Inspired by the woman in the Bible in Proverbs 31, I began turning a personal, life-long love of making all things craft-related into an Etsy shop where I could enjoy some monetary fruits from my labor. It started at my kitchen table in October 2010, and it is still going on at my kitchen table. My most recent "shop improvement" is that I purchased my first sewing machine last year, so now I don't have to stitch everything by hand. Lovely!

When I create an item for my Etsy shop (which begins by going through my craft supplies with shining eyes), I want to be inspired and to enjoy the process of making something new. This is the reason my shop items are very diverse from one another, and it is also the reason that you rarely see the exact same item listed twice; I just don't enjoy repeating the same thing, so I don't. When I do make the same item twice, I usually change the materials or the style to make it unique. I don't actually do that for the customer - I do it for me. I believe that by protecting the fun and enjoyment I receive from crafting, I will have a longer and more successful run at selling my items. I believe that loving what I'm doing and continuing to develop my talents will result in happy customers - and that makes me very happy, too!
