I opened Longrunners when I saw a need for decorative holiday Table Runners. When I purchased my first home, I went shopping locally for fabric textiles for my home and quickly realized there was nothing I liked to choose from in retail stores. So I setup my sewing machine and went to the local fabric store in search of my own style of textiles and created curtains, table runners, placemats, potholders, etc. When friends came to visit at my new home, they all asked the same question "Where did you get all of these adorable linens?" When I replied that I made them, my friends and family couldn't believe my creativity and willingness to make something handmade. So soon after that, they asked me to make the same for them and said I should sell my handcrafted works in local stores so others could reap the benefits of my adorable décor. After much encouragement, that's exactly what I did and discovered they were right. Locals in this area bought my goods as quickly as I could make them which led to more business and eventually opening this online shop.


That first home purchase happened in 1994 and those first linens happened in the following year. Fast forward to 2008, a year after my second daughter was born, this Etsy shop soon followed and I have never looked back or regretted it for one second. The power of handmade along with the broad markets of ecommerce, this shop has opened a whole new marketplace for Longrunners!!
