Long ago my sister gave me a bead loom and some supplies to make seed bead jewelry. I found it very pleasing to put color and pattern together, and turn beads and string into wearable jewelry. I began to see beauty in patterns, in rugs and landscapes, like never before. A few years later I was introduced to larger, more expensive, beads and sterling silver. I flinch to see those early creations but they were the path to what I can do now, so I am grateful. I progressed, and studied, and apprenticed, and made a lot of not-so-great jewelry and some really great jewelry. It has been a life project really and I have gone from working every day to taking months and months off - a true relationship of ups and downs. Now, I'm coming back to creating jewelry, rethinking things a bit, join me on the journey - won't you?
A few things that I know to be true;
- It is all about quality, what you put in is what you get out.
- Layering necklaces is, almost, always better than wearing just one.
- Jewelry can tell a story - your story.
- We are all beautiful and deserving.
