Mama Bijou is a Mama run small business. I started Mama Bijou in 2010 when we had our last child. Our youngest of our first 3 children is 11 years apart from her. With almost starting over, I was really excited to move from the teddy bear stage we had with our first three to some trendier options. I then realized there were not a lot of new options. With that, Mama Bijou was born to give moms the custom shopping experience they want for their babies first moments.
Lorie joined our Mama team in 2013. She is a very talented mom with 1 girl. I never will forget the first time I met her. It was the first day of kindergarten for both of our daughters. She was sitting on the playground bench with that look of adornment and sadness as she watched her daughter playing. For that first year we were always the last two moms to leave the playground. We had to watch both of our daughters until that last moment they entered the school. It was with those moments, I knew we would be friends. Her love for her work shows with her great attention to detail. She is responsible from getting the orders ready for production, accessory designer to packaging & shipping.
Kim Joined our Mama team in 2015. Kim is a very talented mom with 4 boys. Her son and my daughter have gone to school together since kindergarten. Her dedication to her family and her never ending positive energy is what drew me to her and I knew I had to have her as a part of our team. Her love in being a mom shines through on her work. She is responsible for the production of the orders and assists in the designs as well.
Last but not least is my husband Ed, he is a very important member of our team. He helps in any area we need extra help in. We have even had him help roll diapers back in the days we did diaper cakes. We could not do it without him!
I am blessed to have such an awesome team. I feel like our love and pride in what we do shows through in our work. We feel so honored to be a part of something so special in peoples lives. I AM ONLY ABLE TO GUARANTEE WHEN IT WILL SHIP OUT ON MY END. THE SHIPPING TIME DEPENDS ON THE SHIPPING METHOD CHOSEN AT CHECK OUT.
Standard shipping takes approximately 2-9 business days, Priority Shipping takes approximately 2-3 business days. As of October 1st, the post office has made an announced delays in both First Class and Priority services. These shipping methods are not a guaranteed shipping window by the post office. If you need a guaranteed date of receiving your package, you would need to purchase their Express shipping 1-2 business day service. This is their guaranteed shipping service. They will refund shipping if it is not recieved within the 1-2 business days from shipping out. Please remember, shipping time does not include the production time. Both the Priority and Express shipping methods include insurance up to $50. Fedex Overnight is also a guaranteed 1 business day delivery method as well.

Frequently asked questions
Garment Details and Sizing
If you are concerned with sizing and want to double check measurements, please convo me before ordering with sizing questions since all sales are final.
The size charts are provided on each listing. If there happens to be no size chart or any questions on sizing, please convo me before purchasing. All measurements given on the size chart are taken with the garment laying flat and are approximate measurements and can run around 1/4" larger or smaller. The first measurement is taken across the chest area and the second would be from the top of the shoulder to the bottom for gown and snaps for bodysuit.
PLEASE NOTE, IF PURCHASING 0-3 GOWN WITH A HAT THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT BRANDS AND SHADES WILL NOT BE THE SAME SHADE OF WHITE
What size are your leg warmers?
We have regular and newborn size leg warmers. The listing will say whether the leg warmers included are available in either one or both.
The leg warmers are very soft and stretch with the baby. They are 80% Cotton, 18% Nylon, 2% Spandex and size as follows:
Newborn: recommended for babies up to 15lbs
REGULAR....recommended for 3 months and up over 15lbs - Fits babies, toddlers and up to young children
The regular will fit newborn but will be loose and fit up to the top of the thigh, but the baby will be able to grow into them and wear longer.
The leg warmers will include either ruffles, babies initial, bows or decals added. Please see the listings for details.
Knotted Gown Sizing
The knotted gowns sizing is newborn/0-3. The weight recommendation on the knotted gown is 7-12 lbs. The knotted gowns are really nice since the bottom of the gown knot can be adjusted as the baby grows. Because of this, you can get longer use out of the gown than a traditional gown or bodysuit. For a baby on the 7lb side, it will be looser in the chest area than a baby that is older on the 12lb side but will still fit both weights.
Where do I put personalization or any other information needed on my order?
Please double check spelling when checking out. We will customize all orders with babies name capitalized unless otherwise specifically requested in order notes. We receive numerous orders without capitalization or all caps and when double checked, most want capitalized. We are no longer holding up orders to double check.
All listings with personalization includes up to 12 letters depending on the listing. Please see listing for personalization details. If you would like two names the space would be counted as one letter. Some designs will allow two names to fit. Please convo me first to see if it will fit before purchasing. If purchased and it is a design that can only fit one name, it will be customized with the first name given.
Care instructions
To maintain durability, wash garments inside out in cold water on delicate setting. Do not bleach, use fabric softener or dry clean. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry. Embroidery can be ironed on low heat. Heat pressed items can be ironed on low heat inside out.
Leg warmers and items with flowers or rhinestones such as knit hats are recommended as hand wash and lay flat to dry. Paper flowers cannot be washed.
For masks, please hand wash and lay flat to dry. They can be ironed on the back side of the mask with design side down on low heat. Do not use fabric softener when washing.
Shipping Questions
Our current production time for most items is 1-3 business days to make and ship out. I can only guarantee when I can make and ship out by, the shipping time from there depends on the shipping method you choose at check out.
Standard shipping takes approximately 2-9 business days and Priority approximately 2-3 business days. Both are not guaranteed shipping methods. Express is 1-2 business days and is a guaranteed shipping method. Both Priority and Express also include insurance up to $50.
If you need your item by a certain date, please message me first. I am happy to let you know the production time on that item and help with shipping choices.
What is the best way to contact you?
Our customer service is open Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm.
Please keep all messaging through Etsy. This insures all information and conversations will be linked to your order or listing in question if I need to refer back to them. I do not check my email regularly and most of the time it gets sent to my spam folder. I try and answer my questions within that days business hours. If it is my busy season, it may take up to 48 hours. Questions received after 4pm on Friday and over the weekends will be answered on Monday.
Gift wrapping and packaging
I can add a gift card no problem. Please put your request with what you would like written on your card in the notes to seller section of your check out. Also, if it is a gift and being sent to to their address, please make sure the correct address is provided in the ship to section of your Etsy check out. Depending on availability and my busy season I can provide gift wrap starting at $5. Please convo me if you would like to have wrapped.
Refund and Returns
ANNOUNCEMENT BOXES: Due to the nature of these items, they are non returnable.
PERSONALIZED/CUSTOMIZED ITEMS: These items are specially made for you. Therefore they are not able to be returned or exchanged. Customized items are items that are made to your specifications.
NON PERSONALIZED/CUSTOMIZED ITEMS: These items are returnable. If wanting to return, we will minus a 20% restocking fee from refund. Contact us within 3 business days of receipt & postmarked within 3 business days in unused/unwashed condition.
If returning or exchanging, customer will pay all shipping costs.
If there is a mistake made on our end, we will remake and ship out right away. We would need to be contacted with in 3 business days of receipt.
Order Cancellation and changes
Once your order is placed, it cannot be cancelled. There are many instances when we make and ship out within that same day. Also, any order changes or address changes after order is placed cannot be guaranteed for the same reason.
