when buying from mermaidEYE, you are purchasing a one-of-a-kind item that cannot be reproduced. each piece is handmade from pre-loved materials. each piece made is slightly imperfect. flaws in the material like tearing, holes, distressed hems, slight wearout or repaired and patchworked areas are part of mermaidEYE's intended style and contribute to the soul of each creation. i use professional, certified fabric dyes for dyeing. each finished piece is washed with a neutral laundry detergent that is suitable for sensitive skin. no harmful laundry detergents or fabric softeners are used.

the exact measurements are in the description of each item. size names like "XS" or "XL" are usually misleading as everybody interprets them differently. the sizes stated in the item details should be used as an aid, but i always recommend checking the measurements provided in the description and comparing those to items of clothing you own :)
i use the metric scale system. garments are shown in photos on an european size 34/36 mannequin. mannequin measurements: bust: 80cm / waist: 64cm / hips: 88cm / shoulders: 33cm.

i recommend gentle hand washing in cold water over machine washing for all items, as they are made from a variety of different fabrics & hand stitches and have been mindfully hand dyed. do not tumble dry or bleach. washing your mermaidEYE item in hot water or machine washing may compromise the quality and life of the fabric and design over time. all pieces are washed and ready to wear.

original artworks should be kept away from direct sunlight and humidity.

all orders are carefully wrapped with recycled, mindfully curated (sometimes pre-used) materials. the packaging is always embellished with hand painted details. each mermaidEYE item comes with a unique tag attached to it that i handmake from leftover scraps of artist paper. giving or sending an item from this shop directly to a gift recipient is appropriate :)
