I started selling my bead stash in 2007 in my finished jewelry shop, which is now defunct, out of an extreme necessity to unload a big portion of my very large bead collection that I had amassed in my discovery of jewelry design. Along the way, I figured out that I really loved the hunt for perfect beads and elements to enhance my designs. It become an obsession which I found was a common love amongst many of us here on Etsy. My nickname for myself is The Gem Piggy. Oink! Since I had so many beads, I decided to start my own bead shop and Mint's Treasures was born in 2008.
Fast forward to April 2014. My bead collection is even bigger now - 10's of 1000's of beads and findings. One morning, out of the blue, I woke up head over heals in love with textile art and back in love with my original medium which is collage. These two art forms along with abstract art have swept me off of my feet and I only want to be with them creatively. The urge to create in these mediums was so compelling that I had to give up my jewelry design business and sell all of my stock that I've been hoarding. It's going to take me a while to get it all into the shop, but, if you are looking for something, drop me a line, maybe I have it. I will not be purchasing any new stock, so, if you love it when you see it, grab it while you can.
As you peruse my shop, you will find a wide variety of fantastic beads, there is something for everyone. All of the lovelies that I am selling have been chosen by me and reflect hours upon hours (many years worth of hours) of gem bead hunting and a progression of my own design work. I hope that you love what you find and that you love creating with the beads as much as I loved searching for them.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to convo me. Thanx for sharing this journey with me, it has been so fun and full of discovery and pleasure.
All the best to you!
Melissa
