Trying times bring out the best in us!

Nini's Handmades has been around since 2007.
After my husband was let go from his job right before the 2008 economic crisis, I decided to make my hobby a source of income in order to take care of my family and help my husband out during a stressful season in our lives.
I started on Etsy and to this day I am still here.

I love what I do! I love knitting and sewing and crocheting and I feel blessed to be able to call my hobby my business.
Everything I create is knitted, crocheted, sewn, stitched, by me.
Every single felt patch is handmade/cut from scratch and hand sewn unto each piece.
I strive to create each piece with passion and care for long term use and with heir loom quality.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have learned and loved to knit and crochet.
My knowledge of knitting and creativity comes from my heritage, and my birthplace in Europe.
My love for bright colors and knitted things come from
my early memory of my grandma's creative talent.

I would watch her for hours sew on a very old hand turned sewing machine.
She would create this absolutely perfect sheep's wool filled silk quilts, in all colors and display them on one long wall in her living room. The overwhelming array of colors overloaded my senses and ever since then I wanted to create bright and pretty things.
I love and miss her and every piece I create is a memory of my grandmother.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I refuse to believe that all this is my own doing. I am a firm believer, that I know my Lord, My God and my Savior had HIS hands all in it and helped me to push me forward to show me a life beyond that which I had before.

I am very humbled when I think about where I was and where I am now.

I am thankful for God to provide for me in bad days and good days, I am thankful that He is always with me and fills me with creativity which shows up in my designs. Also, besides being so happy about what I am doing, I am in awe about the most wonderful friends I have made on Etsy.

Customers became my long-lasting friends. I am a better person today, because I am being surrounded by such wonderful Customers.
Everything mentioned above was written before 2021. The year that hit me like a ton of bricks.
My baby boy, lovely son has left this earth to be with the Lord at the young age of 21. Now...everything is different, everything has changed. My work helps me when I am sad and grieving. I am grateful for God for keeping me busy and occupied. Where would I be without HIM?
