I have always been lover of old things...even as a child, One of my most vivid memories today is of me sitting on the cold, black metal treadle of my grandmother's ancient Singer sewing machine, and "pumping" it up and down while she sewed our Christmas pajamas.

As the years passed, I learned to sew my children's clothes, as well as my own and my husband's. In 2010, in the blink of an eye, I found myself a grandmother for the first time and "retired" with a bit of extra time on my hands.

So I decided to make a "goin' to church purse" for my young granddaughter. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, I used an old cabled wool sweater and added both lining, pockets and snaps. This purse was so beautiful...and so many people commented on it, that I decided to make more and sell them! Thus my ETSY shop was born!

But I couldn't stop there!! I discovered that Thrift shops contained far more than the wool sweaters I needed to construct my purses. There were hidden "vintage treasures" scattered among the crowded shelves of discarded, unwanted items!

So now I traverse my local big city and tiny towns in one GREAT BIG SCAVENGER HUNT, "rescuing" ancient treasures from our past for today's generation of "Vintage Geeks." My hope is that you can find one of these treasures a "new" home with you!
