revelo began as a way for Joel to show his passion for the sport of cycling even while not riding his bike. It began with a ruined racing tire on a sleepless night. The resulting belt has seen years of use, but the manufacturing process has been refined over the years. Our product line quickly grew to incorporate used inner tubes to make credit card holders, wallets and key chains, and most recently, reclaimed vinyl banners to be used in wallets, bags and saddle bags.

All of our materials come from local bike shops, with the exception of a few new parts that are needed to create our accessories. We collect tires and tubes from different bike shops in Boulder and Longmont, Colorado, and the surrounding area, as well as bike shops from across state lines. Between six and ten million tons of rubber are thrown into landfills throughout the world each year. We are trying to do our part to help keep some of it out and put it back in to use helping the people of the world express themselves and their love of cycling. We especially appreciate getting tubes that have been patched a few times. They look great as a wallet and have already had multiple lives before they get to us.

Because revelo grew out of a bike racer's love of the sport, it is only natural that we have become supporters of bike racing, partnering with three local racing teams over the years, and hope to be able to sponsor a race of our own some day, just to give back to the cycling public in our home town. We are also partnering with cycling activists that encourage people to get out on their bikes and enjoy our beautiful mountain scenery while engaging in a healthy activity.
