Announcement
Rosalba Couture began when I was very young, drawing fashion designs, cutting and reassembling my own clothing to learn how different fabrics "behaved." There is a quote by British fashion designer Jean Muir which perfectly sums up my relationship to my work: "I prefer to think of fashion as a verb."
My specialty is in combining vintage, recycled and new elements together to create one of a kind pieces. These can then be easily mixed into the closet basics of t-shirts, denim, and leggings that most of us wear for interesting, unique looks that defy trends and time periods.
At Rosalba Couture, I have the privilege of doing custom design and bridal, as well as general alterations for a diversity of women varying in age, size and style. Being able to provide someone with a personalized, artistic garment is infinitely satisfying to me. It also provides a challenge for me to grow in new ways each time, as projects have ranged from theater costuming to bellydance performance and cosplay.
I prefer to work spontaneously, with an eclectic mix of my preferences:
*awesome fabric, preferably natural, organic, sustainable fibers when available
*funky vintage & antique items to repurpose
*wearable designs with attention to less expected areas of the body
All items are one-of-a-kind, intentionally handmade pieces of craft/clothing/art. ( I refuse to pick just one)
I thrive and survive on arts of all kinds and create with many different media, but especially with fabric. I hope you enjoy my work and are inspired to adorn yourself, your friends, any of the wonderful ladies in your life!

5 out of 5 starsEven better in person! The crochet sleeves are amazing. The few, tiny, perfectly placed beads and most-subtle sequins are a treat each time your eye comes across a small gathering of them. Measurements were exactly as given on Etsy-perfect fit. Fabric is a to-die-for print on cotton, lined with silk. OMG. so soft second skin! exquisitely rendered: hidden zipper, seamed to flatter, shows just the right amount of skin. I am usually scared to go fitted, but this top is changing my mind! Arrived on time, as described in photo and text. Excellent price, above-and-beyond quality.

5 out of 5 starsPerfect shopping purse! Fits the essentials, zips securely, looks styly cross body with a variety of outfits and has "fashions past" print! Really like the ultra suede detailing on the strap and bottom. Arrived on time, as described. Good price, excellent quality. Fabulously fashionable.

5 out of 5 starsPerfect size and shape so I can fit my purse stuff and a book, and still opens wide enough to see to the bottom. Thick, sturdy, quality textiles. Love the print, colors, materials that make it an art piece and also very fuctional. Custom "rosealba valentino" tagging is a cool touch, too.
