Although I have been crafting all my life, it was in 2008 that I really became a serious crafter.
That was the year that my oldest daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. This rare autoimmune disorder attacked her muscles, leaving her weak and helpless.
For 3 years straight, taking care of her consumed my every waking hour. Making temari balls provided a brief sense of accomplishment through those trying times.
As her condition has improved, I have been working on other crafts such as kanzashi, crochet and sewing.
Today my daughters participate in my Etsy store and are learning to craft themselves.
