Blackbird Jewelry is designed and handmade by Raven Tryon. Blackbird Jewelry's aesthetic is understated elegance, inspired by geometrics, line, and proportion. Blackbird pieces have a classic delicate feeling, yet modern with a little edge.

Blackbird Jewelry's goal is to provide quality handmade jewelry at an affordable price point. The pieces translate effortlessly from a t-shirt to a little black dress and can be layered together to make a statement of "feminine edge".

Raven started making jewelry and selling on consignment to boutiques in the Los Angeles area in 2007. She started her Etsy shop in 2009 with her Rosary necklaces. she now does metalsmithing but started with what is called cold-connection, discovering new processes as she falls further and further down the Jewelry making rabbit hole.

{Blackbird Rosaries Collection 2007- Present} are wire wrapped by hand, and made from vintage medallions (from her source in Paris), beautiful natural stone beads, and gemstones. Raven is always on the hunt for inspirational, vintage pieces for this collection.

{Blackbird Jewelry 2009-2017} was all plated charms. Raven started with plating, to provide style and sophistication that was affordable. She designed her molds using Autocad (a skill from her Interior Design days) and wax carving by hand too- outsourcing the plating process.
>Most of these original pieces have been phased out of the collection, as she prefers pieces with more longevity now and works only with fine materials, but a few fan favorites, like my hand-sawed brass Lightening bolt charm, are still available but with upgraded findings and chain. Please read the listings carefully as there are still a few plated charms in my line, and I am transparent about which these are.

{Blackbird Designs 2015-Present} Now Raven's rings, jewelry pieces, parts and findings are all sterling silver or vermeil/gold-filled and also includes ethically sourced high quality natural stones and gemstones, most from U.S. lapidaries and one special trusted resource in Australia and one in India. Black tourmaline is her favorite stone of course! Mostly because she loves black but it keeps her Aries energy grounded and focused. 🖤
