siphonophoria's Shop Announcement

This summer, I will be focusing on premade costume items! I will try to get more listed over time~ some will be made by my brand new assistant, Sushila. I'm experiencing a huge influx of custom orders- I'm currently booked through September. Like me on
Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Siphonophoria/224699464232843)
to get a heads up on fresh new items (and they do tend to go fast)! :)

If you are requesting an item or wish to reserve an item please be prepared to make a deposit/payment first. :) If you have an easy custom item request (headpiece, simple belt, etc), I may be able to squeeze you in.

If you need your item to ship immediately, I can do that, just let me know! :) Please read my policies if you have any questions about shipping rates, trades, custom work, returns, and what I mean when I say I am "eco-conscious".

I would LOVE to see your photos of performing in my pieces! You can post them to my FB page if you like (click on the the "like" button under my banner to access the FB page) or send them to me privately. :)

Welcome to siphonophoria! Say it with me now- sigh-FONO-foria. :) I also have a knitting shop at surrealestate.etsy.com, sell knitting patterns on Ravelry and Knitpicks, and sell jewelry locally (Portland, OR) at Metro Clothing and Body Piercing and Little Things jewelry boutique in NW. But for this shop, I specialize in tribal fusion belly dance costuming and jewelry.

All of my feather items are 100% cruelty free! No plucking, no huge factory farms, no senseless killing or suffering. I use a mixture of local feathers molted from living, happy hens, free range farms/sanctuaries that I vet meticulously, or naturally expired or live molting game birds. Please ask me if you any questions about the feathers in a certain item, I would love to help you! I can sometimes send you a picture of the bird it came from!

I strive to minimize my impact as a crafter and frequently reuse junk jewelry, reclaimed vintage supplies, and thrift store finds. My goal is to make truly one-of-a-kind pieces, and this often means using the last scrap of a vintage sari, or a one-of-a-kind brooch or lace handkerchief I scored at a local antique store. This, however, makes it difficult to recreate pieces, and I can't make exact copies of my previous work. If you see something you like and want a matching headpiece, bra, belt, etc contact me- I sometimes have enough matching materials for a second (or third) piece. If you see an item that sold, but you want one exactly like it, I'll get as close as I can without making an exact copy. If a listing has disappeared, I have sold it offline.

Costume items should be spot cleaned ONLY and stored/transported with caution. Not that I think you would throw Kuchi coins in the dryer. :) CATS- I haz them, but definitely no smoking in my home. I store my supplies to be catproof, plus press and lint roll all clothing items before being sent, but if you are extra allergic, we may have to work something out.

All of my earrings are super light (I purchase materials based on this quality) and can be made to work with gauged ears by switching to leverbacks or kidney wires. These hooks are also great for festival or performance wear, so you don't lose one! Just convo me!

I LOVE custom orders. Anything that I sell- headpieces, belts, bras, necklaces, earrings- I have slowly curated a giant collection of amazing raw materials. And if I don't already have it, I can find it! Please give custom orders about 6-8 weeks unless otherwise stated. Also, I will start discussing ideas with you, but cannot start working on your piece until I receive a deposit or payment in full.

I stand by my work! Although I strive to keep my items as affordable as possible, I will also do what I can fix any problems. I aim to please! Please read my store policies for more info on shipping, returns, etc.
