Announcement    Welcome to Stash of Ziam. Your one stop shopping for luxurious hand knits and hand sewn silk accessories. I love to spin and knit more than anything else, it is my meditation and brings me much joy. I spin and dye many of my yarns and use a variety in each creation for depth and texture.

I have the pleasure of purchasing my silks from the Punjabi Market in Vancouver, British Columbia several times a year. I mostly handsew my silken goods, embellishing them with treasures I collect during my travels. I love the feel of silk and how it takes the dyes. I often will dye a pot of raw wool, alpaca, unspun silk, silk fabric, mohair and angora. The result is a variety of fibers that have all taken the dye differently but are in the same hue. I then blend them all on my carder to make my softer than soft yarns.

I tend to think of my creations as paintings. I come up with an idea...arrange everything in a basket and look at it several times a day, rearranging colors and textures until I achieve the balance I am looking for. I love this process in my creations, it is very rewarding.

Thank you for visiting my shop. Namaste to all.
