Architectural ink and watercolour artist, all hand made in Worcestershire.
A natural artistic talent runs in the family, my father was an architect, brother a draughtsman and sister a potter & gilder running an art gallery in Berkshire. I follow my love of architecture, colour and space through a new approach to the varied buildings of Worcestershire (her current home town) and beyond.
I have worked in marketing and branding for over 20 years, for a variety of organisations from carpet manufacturers to commercial banks, and have even been involved in buying art for corporate display and investment.
Having spent many years using photography, art & imagery in my work; not just as a sales and marketing tool, I decided to focus on my own artistic ability and passion for architecture, structure and colour.
An avid photographer and keen artist in various mediums, I rediscovered my love of watercolour having attended evening art classes in Worcester run by the lovely Karen Stone - Stone Fine Arts. That was the start of what is now Architectural Impressions.
Towards the end of 2016 I decided to leave the corporate world and truly follow my passion for watercolour and architecture. Having established my style, I started to create works focusing on the buildings of Worcester. The city and surrounding areas are abundant with historical buildings and is rich in history.
Architectural Impressions was founded in February, formally launched in June 2017 and continues to grow, driven by the wonderful response to my art.
Now with two very distinct ranges:
Classique Range
Classique is pencil sketched, fine lined with ink and finished in watercolour. I beautifully highlight the structure by extending the detailed line work beyond the subject and use an array of wonderfully bright colours enhancing the image. Current range collections include Worcester, Malvern and Ludlow. Naturally the collection includes the globally known Lea & Perrins factory of the Worcestershire sauce fame.
Vivid Range
Vivid is bold line work defining the subject, with the use of strong vibrant colour combinations. Art to brighten any wall. Range collections include 2 colour and 3 colour. I also have a 'Pick Your Palette' offering through my website, where you can choice your own set of colours to match furnishings, room or space. This work is inspired by Andy Warhol 9 panel series and really plays on my love of colour and form. I will be expanding the vivid range to include global iconic building such as Elizabeth Tower (or commonly known as Big Ben), Tower Bridge, The Eiffel Tower, The Taj Mahal, Notre Dame, Romes Colosseum and The Empire State Building.
I also undertake private and business commissions - see website for more details. My aim is to help business use architectural art to enhance their brand and potential become a revenue stream.
