Hello, welcome to my Etsy shop. I am a Welsh and English artist illustrator based in Falmouth, Cornwall.
Originally from Hampshire, I moved to Cornwall during 2016 when I turned 30 to undergo my MA in art..
Growing up on the South Coast inspired me greatly. I love the remnants of an old gypsy heritage in the New Forest, old caravans and Shepherd's huts.
The bone-white chalk cliffs opposite the Isle of White, diverse wetland birdlife that ever changes with the seasons. The knarled twisted oaks, wild untamed Victorian cemeteries and abandoned moss-covered abbeys. I love to explore and walk the coastal landscape and woods where I grew up, inspiration is all around.
I get lost in the process of making and feel that it is a meditative experience.
I am inspired by nature, writers, books and stories. I am also inspired by the ocean. Late summer of 2015 I became a certified dive master on the island of Lanzarote where I lived for three months to complete my training. I love the spying eyes of a curious octopus, the mesmerising way they change their body colour, the hypnotic dance of the cuttlefish, the shoals of shimmering silver barracuda and observing the beautiful seahorses, shipwrecks and cathedral-like caves.
Upon returning to the UK, I left my job of eight years as an Outdoor Education Teacher for the Countryside Service and moved to Falmouth, Cornwall for my studies, where I graduated with an MA in Art, Illustration: Authorial Practice. I am currently in my seventh year living, enjoying, exploring and working in this part of the world.
