Frequently asked questions

Do you provide care instructions with jewellery?

Yes, I include a care leaflet as well as a complimentary polishing cloth and anti moisture tab.

What metals do you use to make your jewellery?

I work in a range of metals including copper, sterling silver, fine silver and argentium.

What other materials do you use?

In addition to metals I use a variety of other components such as natural gemstones, cultured pearls, glass and fordite. Fordite is cured excess car paint which accumulates during the car painting process. This is cut and polished to create unique upcycled cabochons.

What semi-precious stones do you use?

I use a variety of different stones, but my favourite is Labradorite.

Each stone is believed to have holistic healing powers and spiritual meanings. I'm not an expert in this field, but I try to include information regarding the stones where I can.

Semi-precious stones can vary greatly in quality and value, and this will be reflected in the price of the piece in which it is incorporated.

Hallmarking

In accordance with UK law, all silver items over 7.78g will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker's mark LMH.

Items containing copper and silver must also be hallmarked if the total weight is 7.78g or over.

The exact hallmarking stamp for metal will be governed by the lowest classification of silver in the piece, which is usually 925 sterling silver in my work. If copper is included, the mark will include the stamp 'METAL'.

Items under 7.78g are not required to be hallmarked by law, but I try to include the exact composition of metal in the description.

For more information, please see the London Assay Office Dealers Notice on their website or contact me for more information.
