Hexagons progress around your head in the colours of the rainbow, crocheted in bright, eye-popping shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Trimmed in red and yellow.

Linen yarn is stiff at first, softening up as you work it and with washing, meaning your hat will soften and look even better as you wear and wash it (in cold water and lay flat or line dry).

These colours are so much fun to work with, and in this great combination they provide a touch of summer all year long. This particular combination appeals to me due to the yarn; it's such a natural, earthy fibre and, in these bright primary colours, it's the perfect inspiration for a rainbow!
