Vintage Macramé Headstall with Half Breed Bit & RosettesProbably came out of Mexico circa 1940 - 1950's
Awesome vintage condition, could be used, but I recommend it as a wall hanging, collectors item.
Looking at this piece I see the beautiful senorita riding the loveliest horse on the rancho, sidesaddle into town.
Typically, the rosettes are not perfect as this has been used and the rosettes are more than likely 30 years or more older than the headstall. One shows more fading which is also typical. The bit is plated steel. The 2 1/2" domed concho's on the cheek pieces are dented. The small domed piece at the slobber bar on the off side is missing. The bit does seem to be marked, I cant read it, might be MD or HD...don't know.
Been hanging on my wall for at least 10 years, will stay there until it finds it's perfect new home!
