Size: 8 by 10Title: Count the Rings
This painting is the start to a new line of Three Trees paintings. I used Antique Train ledger paper to cover the canvas before painting. The paper dates back to 1923-5. Names and fare amounts are written on the paper.
These three trees are an amazing complex combination of reds, pinks, yellows, with random slight shades of subtle green underneath. The rich crimson red base is new...I normally stay in the earth tone shades but I've recently begun exploring reds a bit more since the Valentines Day challenge.
