Something that developed into a problem for me last May was that we had so much rain that my lawn guy couldn’t keep up with the grass. What developed was a very tall grass situation that made the back of my yard look like a hayfield. Filled with tall orchard grass and timothy hay the lines between the neighboring back yards began to blur and my mind began to wander of course. What developed was the quintessential pony paddock leading into the flower garden. And this great escape was born.” The Garden Gate”

While livestock are no longer allowed in our small town. The town is truly small. So small that the town line runs right down the middle of my street. I am in town and all the other houses across the street, and our town water tower, are actually in the county. Less than a block from my house there is a fully fledged pony paddock with a retired chestnut Arabian. Sometimes after making a run to the post office(in town) I tool up the street and visit the “horse house” with the pony paddock and two blocks over are people with large vegetable gardens and yes chickens!! And less than a mile from me is a full fledged 200 house modern subdivision in one direction and a beef cattle operation with 1800’s circa farm house in the other direction. Ahh the joys of country living in small towns! I love this place!

The painting is done on primed masonite with acrylic paint and is sealed on the front with matt polymer varnish.
