Penelope-Original Stuffs Doll made from Recycled Wool Sweater Scraps

Meet Penelope. She is the 4th in my "Stuffs" series of dolls made from felted wool sweater scraps. Penelope, or Penny for short, has momentarily been whisked away by Hamish, and you can read all about their escapades here: http://valsartstudio.blogspot.com/2009/10/hamish-and-lf.html. Hamish has promised to return Penelope back home by the weekend. Let's hope he is a Follow Through sort of a guy!

Penelope was "born" from my scrap basket of felted wool bits. I could never quite figure out why those bits had to go into a basket, and not the trash, but apparently, this is why. Penelope has some cotton accents (her tummy and clothing), and she is adorned with lovely cotton and velvet trims. Penelope is stuffed with natural antibacterial Bamboo fiber, which adds a lovely dimension to her character. Penelope's face, hands and feet are all needle felted, so there's no chance of eyes being torn off by a wayward child or dog (yes, that's been a problem in the past). Penelope does have two old fashioned buttons as trim on her dress. Penelope's skirt is removable, and her apron and scarf may untie, however they are sewn on for modesty's sake. Penelope measures 16.5" tall from the tip of her toes to the top of her head.

Penelope is going to be one of my star attractions at a Children's Craft Fair on the weekend, so if she sells there, and you want Penelope, you may get a twin. I will make sure Penelope's twin is a close to Penelope as possible, but she may have her own sweet quirk, which, I'm sure, will make her every bit as wonderful as is Penelope.
