Description

"What White Rabbit?
9" x 12"
Encaustic embellished, one-of-kind limited edition print

“What White Rabbit?” is a quirky limited edition print made from an encaustic painting touting the prestigious award of “best of show” in a California juried exhibition. OK, enough about its bragging rights...really, don’t you just want to have tea on the veranda with this little furry friend? Or say, “Coochie Coo” to the little peeking fella in the lower left hand corner. It’s not raining men, but it is raining little white and red floaties that are randomly dabbed with encaustic paint! Oh yes, individually embellished to make each print unique and a one-of-a-kind. This is a limited edition of 60, so after they are all sold...none will be pulled out of a big, black hat.

Collage quote: "Most children's songs are in binary or ternary form." Found in an antique journal with music theory notes in it!

Each print measures 9” x 12” including a white border for framing (actual image size is 6” x 9.5”) and has been printed on 310gsm acid-free Hahnemühle German Printmaking Paper. The print's UltraChrome ink has been specially treated and sprayed, giving it an archival lifespan of over 60 years.

All prints are hand signed, numbered and embellished with encaustic. This will not effect the longevity of the print since wax is a natural sealant.

*Frame not included.*

Encaustic:
Encaustic is a painting method where color-pigmented beeswax is melted, applied to a surface and reheated to fuse the paint into a smooth or textured finish. The word encaustic comes from the Greek language and means 'to burn in', which refers to the process of fusing the paint.
