Vintage ladies gold and ruby or pink sapphire ring.

The jeweler who did the original appraisal described it as a "princess style dome ring, individual prong settings containing one genuine ruby measuring 3.5 mmm diameter and 20 genuine rubies measuring approximately 3.0 mm diameter. The rubies are all of light pinkish-lavender color. "

My mother was the original owner of this ring and I have her original appraisal from the 70s. The jeweler who appraised it then was a long time jeweler with a well known store in the town where I grew up.

About a year ago I had a jeweler here just look over the things I was going to list. He described these as natural pink sapphires.

I trust both of these jewelers, so I am a little perplexed. The original jeweler would have known more about the origin of the ring.

The ring is marked 14 K. Total weight of the ring is 8.4 grams. It is a size 6 1/4.

This is a beautiful ring in excellent condition.
