This listing is for a digital PDF file of my original pattern for a classic Irish Chain quilt in a wall-hanging size. This is a quick and easy project that can be finished in a day - great for beginners, and fun and easy for an experienced quilter. It’s good practice for rotary cutting and strip piecing, yet the finished product is dramatic and sophisticated. The finished quilt is a nice size for a wall hanging, table topper, or baby quilt.

This quilt is made using strip piecing methods, so you never have to handle individual squares. It does require the use of a rotary cutter and ruler.

This makes a 33" x 33" quilt in a traditional double Irish chain pattern. Fully illustrated pattern instructions include hints on choosing fabrics, and directions to make a mitered corner on a border. This is a very easy quilt, suitable for confident beginners, and is something that can be completed in a day.

In my pictures you can see several variation, everything from toile to traditional green! This will give you some idea of the versatility of this pattern. And of course, traditional greens make a great quilt for St. Patrick's day giving!

3/4 yard floral fabric
1/4 yard accent fabric
3/8 yard secondary fabric
1/2 yard inner border and binding
1 1/4 yards for backing

I love to make custom items, but at busy times it can take more time to get them completed. I always try to communicate and if something is needed on a deadline always am willing to try to meet it if possible. Any of my quilts can be personalized with a label on the back with the inscription you ask for. I generally print the labels on special fabric so that they are permanent and can be washed and dried normally.

Unwashed quilts will shrink some when laundered for the first time. I make sure to indicate in the listing whether the quilt is pre-washed or not. I always include the measurements for the item as it is now when shipping to you.

It is not easily possible to make a quilt larger or smaller than it is, that would be a custom request, and I am glad to work with you on that if possible. Many times the same fabric is no longer available so I will have to make substitutions.

If the price is under $10.00, you are most likely looking at a pattern to make the item you are interested in. PDF patterns are not refundable. Please make sure to read the listing, I am very thorough in describing my items and the title and listing description will contain all the information you need to know what you are purchasing.

I have NOT tried this pattern yet, but I have read through it and it looks VERY nicely written and straight forward. Great for a beginner since it is small and you can get "instant gratification" in a shorter period of time. I LOVE the design and can't wait to try it. Looks like it will work beautifully with many color combinations. I do wish that page 1 was not set up like it is because you need to turn it sideways and you can't see the nice image of the beautiful quilt right on the first page in full view. Other than that, seems pretty cool!!
