BillyBob Design empezó en un humilde cobertizo de 20x30 cm que mi marido remodeló para que yo pudiera trabajar en pequeños proyectos de costura. Al principio, tenía una máquina de bordar que no tenía ni idea de usar y algunos retazos de tela para practicar. Mientras esperaba internet para la máquina, decidí probar suerte haciendo coronas de flores de arpillera. ¡Que no quedaron nada bonitas! Un año después, sigo sin wifi y sigo sin saber cómo funciona la máquina de bordar. El edificio ahora está repleto de cintas y flores, y los hermosos suelos están cubiertos de cintas, retazos de coronas de vides y juguetes para perros.
Las manualidades han sido mi consuelo mientras lidiaba con la fibromialgia y el estrés que conlleva. Me han permitido crear recuerdos con mis nietos y, ocasionalmente, contar con la ayuda de mis hijos adultos y mi esposo en las ferias de artesanía (son un salvavidas, ya que soy artesana, no constructora). Sin embargo, pronto descubrí que las ferias de artesanía no son mi fuerte. Entonces, fabriqué mi primer accesorio WAAM y me enganché. Coser es mi pasión, y los accesorios me permiten crear de la manera que más me gusta. Cada artículo que hago está hecho con amor y con la esperanza de que traiga alegría a alguien.
BillyBob Design started in a humble 8x12 she shed that my husband remodeled for me to work on small sewing projects. Initially, I had an embroidery machine that I had no idea how to operate and a few scraps of fabric to practice on. While waiting for internet access for the embroidery machine, I decided to try my hand at making burlap flower wreaths. Let me tell you, they were not pretty! A year later, I still have no Wi-Fi and still don’t know how the embroidery machine works. The building is now overflowing with ribbon and flowers, and the beautiful floors are covered with ribbon, grapevine wreath scraps, and dog toys.
Crafting has been my solace while dealing with Fibromyalgia and the accompanying stress. It has allowed me to create memories with my grandchildren and occasionally rope in my adult children and husband to help out with craft shows (they are lifesavers, as I'm a crafter, not a builder). However, I soon discovered that craft shows are not my forte. Then, I made my first WAAM attachment and was hooked. Sewing is my passion, and attachments allow me to create in the way I love best. Each item I make is crafted with love and the hope that it will bring joy to someone.
