Abrí mi tienda de Etsy en 2013, pero llevo mucho más tiempo haciendo joyas y realizando proyectos creativos. En séptimo grado descubrí la tienda de abalorios en mi pequeño pueblo y eso me abrió un mundo amplio. Cada vez que necesitaba un poco de dinero extra para comprar cuentas en la escuela secundaria, vendía joyas. Más tarde, hacer joyas fue una forma divertida de ganar un poco de dinero extra para la compra cuando había más meses que fondos. Mi estilo y habilidad han evolucionado, pero me ha encantado el proceso de hacer un par de aretes o collares. Lo que más me gusta es observar lo que visten mis mejores amigos y crear cosas que sé que les encantarían. Hubo un tiempo en que llevaba a mi trabajo de oficina una carpeta de tres anillas con tarjeteros de béisbol llenos de aretes. Algunos días recibía el mensaje "Olvidé mis aretes esta mañana, ¿trajiste la carpeta?" preguntas. Estuve en nuestro mercado de agricultores local durante un par de veranos y conocí a algunos queridos amigos en ese proceso. También fui dueño de una tienda física durante aproximadamente cuatro años y medio donde Feryl Designs era la línea de la casa. Mientras esa temporada termina, todavía tengo esta tienda para compartir mis productos y mis pinturas con aquellos con quienes puedan resonar. Periódicamente, utilizo la venta de joyas y arte como una forma de apoyar iniciativas filantrópicas en mi comunidad.

I opened my Etsy shop in 2013, but I've been making jewelry and pursuing creative endeavors for a lot longer. In 7th grade I discovered the bead store in my little town and that opened a wide world to me. Any time I needed a little extra spending money for beads in high school, I'd sell jewelry. Later, making jewelry was a fun way to earn a little extra grocery money when there was more month than funds. My style and skill have evolved, but I have loved the process of making a pair of earrings or necklace. My favorite thing is to observe what my best friends are wearing and create things I know they would love. There was a time I would bring a three-ring binder with baseball card holders filled with earrings to my office job. Some days I'd get the "I forgot my earrings this morning, did you bring the binder?" questions. I did our local farmers market for a couple of summers and met some dear friends in that process. I also owned a bricks and mortar shop for about four and a half years where Feryl Designs was the house line. While that season is over, I still have this shop to share my wares and my paintings for those with whom they might resonate. Periodically, I use jewelry and art sales as a way to support philanthropic initiatives in my community.
