Hello, I'm Mari and I'm the creative behind Handful of Threads. I stitch things. I love to cover things with a mass of tiny stitches to create colour and texture. I use traditional embroidery stitches to create one of a kind accessories, berets, gloves, socks and sweatshirts. I make detachable collars, brooches, rings and purses, all with embroidered flowers, foliage and seed heads of all kinds. Creating one off pieces to be a truly personal gift.

Me and Mine - on a very blustery walk out in the Yorkshire Dales.
Starting off one of my berets. Embroidery is a very simple craft. It just takes time (a lot of time) and patience!
A selection of my work - berets, pincushions, brooches and collars.
My little stand at a lovely artisan market in Harrogate.

Hi, My name is Mari and Handful of Threads is my creation. I've always loved embroidery being taught it by my Grandmother many many years ago and then studying it at art school. After years of working within the greeting cards world, developing new ideas for others, now is my time to focus on the craft I love!
Embroidery can add such a 3D textural quality to fabric and makes each item so very individual.
I work from home in the lovely town of Otley in West Yorkshire, sometimes with the help of a small black cat, who's main passion (other than Dreamies of course) is pink ribbons.
