Welcome to Knit with Olive
En mi familia, mi madre y yo empezamos a tejer durante una etapa de mi vida en la que necesitaba bajar el ritmo. Buscábamos algo tranquilo, algo que no me exigiera mucho, pero que me dejara con algo que mostrar como resultado del tiempo invertido. Tejer resultó ser justo eso. Se convirtió en una forma de meditación, y así ha permanecido desde entonces.
Con el tiempo, la meditación se convirtió en algo más. Ahora creo patrones de punto que me gustaría tejer yo misma: claros, fáciles para principiantes y gratificantes de realizar. Nada intimidante, nada complicado, solo patrones que te invitan a participar y te guían paso a paso.
La tienda lleva el nombre de nuestro gato Olive, al que le encanta jugar con lana casi tanto como a nosotros tejer con ella. Comparte el estudio con otros dos gatos, pero fue la inspiración obvia.
Todos los patrones de la tienda los hemos tejido y probado nosotros mismos. Si está aquí, funciona, y esperamos que te brinde la misma tranquilidad que me brinda a mí.
In my family we started knitting with my Mom during a season of life when I needed to slow down. We were looking for something quiet, something that didn't ask much of me but still left me with something to show for the time. Knitting turned out to be exactly that. It became a meditation, and it has stayed that way ever since.
Over time, the meditation grew into something more. Now I create knitting patterns I'd want to knit myself: clear, beginner-friendly, and rewarding to make. Nothing intimidating, nothing fussy, just patterns that welcome you in and walk you through.
The shop is named after our cat Olive, who loves playing with yarn almost as much as we love knitting with it. He shares the studio with two other cats, but he was the obvious muse.
Every pattern in the shop is one we've knit and tested ourselves. If it's here, it works, and we hope it brings you the same calm it brings me.
