Corporate Spreadsheet Wizard Turned Botanical Printmaker (Thanks to a Layoff)
Welcome to Mayapple Creative Studio! If you’re new here, this studio is the creative side quest of a former stage manager turned corporate spreadsheet wizard... who recently got laid off and decided it was time to build something authentic, tactile, and grounded.
----------
The Process & Craft
My background is rooted in visual storytelling, theatrical projection design, and meticulous organization. That same technical precision goes into every botanical print I make.
Every piece begins with a real botanical element gathered directly from nature - like the mayapple leaf (Podophyllum peltatum). Using hand-pulled Gelli plate monotype techniques, real leaves are pressed into ink to capture their delicate veining, natural contours, and organic negative space.
----------
Art Should Be Accessible
We believe that art shouldn't be out of reach. While original monotypes and large custom works carry higher investment value, having story-driven art in your daily life shouldn't carry a luxury gatekeeper price tag. That’s why we offer quality print reproductions alongside selected original works - giving you museum-quality prints at accessible price points.
